Is Facebook Gaming In Decline?

Posted by Sean on July 22nd, 2011

I sure as hell hope so, because it hurts to see so much human potential wasted on Farmville and Cityville. Especially when they could be wasting it on Minecraft instead.

But perhaps there’s light at the end of the tunnel! According to Business Insider, Zynga (the evil wizards responsible for Farmville and its equally-pointless variants)┬áis losing 5-10% of their playerbase every month. Does this mean that such painfully shallow games are incapable of maintaining players over a long period of time? Hopefully yes, because I’m pretty sure that those crappy Facebook games have been responsible for more lost global productivity than the flu. Frankly, I’d rather deal with the infectious disease.

Big surprise, we solved some puzzles. Bigger surprise? We didn’t spend a good fifteen minutes staring at the walls in hopes of figuring it out. Yup, we really had our genius hats on for this one, right up until our enlarged genius-brain filled heads couldn’t fit through the exit door. Then we took off our genius caps and promptly realized we were still morons.
